Brand new battery, so the water level would be fine. Take off the tool kit and then place the positive lead of the charger onto the positive lead of the battery. Be careful not to allow this lead to touch any part of the cycle except the battery post. You will not have to disconnect the battery.
Shield this connection good with an insulator such as electrical tape, rubber, plastic or such because, you will be charging the battery on the cycle and you will be leaving it unattended for a few hours!
Now, you can connect the negative lead of the charger to a good ground connection on the engine, or the break pedal. This is fortunate, because to get at the other side of the battery is difficul, becauseof the Philips screw that holds the side cover. On mine, I changed this awkward screw to a thumb screw.
